Why I do what I do (plus an asshole in the peanut gallery)

SEA Graduation

I, of course, am LameTeacher. Having only 1000 characters to work with in the comments was quite a challenge, but I think that ultimately, my point was made.

Don't know why that apostrophe turned into a question mark, but it's really pissing me off.

Oh Lordy I want to kick FredEx in the nuts so bad.

Where do you even start with someone like that?

It's people like FredEx that ruin this freakin world--simple minded, lives in a bubble and believe that everyone gets what they deserve because of lack of ambition. I, too, am pissed by his comments but just remember that we are teaching our students to disregard assholes like FredEx, we need to do the same. We are awesome and our students are even more awesome.

Ohhhhhhhh we are all so wrong obviously FredEx's son did have some stikes against him......like having FredEx as a parent.

I am very proud of your students! Not to mention what a great job I think you do to help these students along their walk! Might I suggest you lamenate this article (or maybe just FredEx's comment and put it on your mirror so you remember each day WHY you do what you do!)

We have an alternative high school housed in our community college, and boy, could those students use someone like you. These students spend about 80 percent of their day in the hallways. I never see the teacher interacting with the students and on Friday they have a half day that only involves watching movies. What's going to happen to these kids. At least at your school these kids who are there for a million reasons have education provided for them. I know they need to make the choice to take advantage of it, but I don't think that's even possible at the school in my building. Good for you for helping make good things possible for these kids.

So many self-absorbed, close-minded people in the world. I'm constantly shocked by it.

I'm so glad there is you in the world - and people like you. I am so jealous of the fact that you really do make a difference in this world.
